Poly Aluminum Chloride (PAC)
Poly aluminum chlorides are a class of aluminum-based, inorganic polymeric chemicals containing aluminum, chloride, and hydroxide with a range of aluminum to chloride ratios. Polyaluminum chlorides are primarily used for coagulation in water and wastewater treatment and may be custom formulated as part of a trademarked blend of mixed aluminum polymers for this purpose. Water treatment applications are among the most common uses of polyaluminum chlorides in the world.

Description

Polyaluminum Chloride (PAC) is a highly efficient inorganic polymer coagulant formed by the partial hydrolysis of aluminum chloride. Available in both powder and liquid forms, PAC is used extensively for water purification and wastewater treatment. It has strong adsorption and bridging capabilities, making it effective for removing suspended solids, turbidity, organic matter, and other contaminants. White PAC is typically of higher purity and used in sensitive applications like drinking water treatment.

Application

Water Treatment: Effective coagulant for drinking water and wastewater treatment.

Paper Industry: Used for sizing, retention, and pitch control.

Textile Industry: Removes dye and improves water reuse in textile effluent.

Oil & Mining: Aids in solid-liquid separation, tailing water clarification.

Cosmetics & Food Industry: (White PAC) Used where high-purity coagulants are required.

Advantage

Rapid coagulation and floc formation

Lower sludge generation compared to traditional alum

Effective over a wide pH range

Strong decolorization and turbidity removal capability

Reduces chemical consumption in multi-stage treatment systems

Storage

Store in a dry, well-ventilated warehouse away from moisture and direct sunlight. Keep tightly sealed to avoid contact with water or humidity. Avoid stacking with incompatible chemicals.
